Sure, that's obvious! But even I still need this reminder. Too often we care about what other people think and it is perfectly natural to want to follow "formulas" that solve all your problems

Jewellery should be an expression from your heart not a formula from some YouTube celeb, not what your friends said would look good and not what your partner likes...

The truth is, we need to put ourselves first. When we listen to our heart we can share the best part of ourselves more easily and have a lot more fun!

It really is that simple.

So, the next time that you are getting ready to go out, before you even look at your jewellery, shut you eyes and take a moment to reflect on how you feel and what makes you smile

Remember Rowley? The all-amazing Wild Bird Rescuer from the Gold Coast?

Well, his work continues and we are humbled to support his volunteer service. Every year he saves the lives of countless pelicans, swans and many more.

He describes it in a pretty laid back way:

"It's kinda like having a pet, but one that you get to look after for a brief time and then let go..."

But we all know it's some crazy hard work!

Wild Bird Rescues has big plans to educate fishing enthusiasts and clean up the shoreline.

""...moves are afoot to purchase ten Fishing Tackle Debris Bins. This project has long been on my radar. If approved the bins will be installed at key fishing sites around the Gold Coast in an effort to curb the obscene amount of discarded tackle that causes so many bird entanglements."

This project is SO WORTHY of all our attention - something so simple that will change the lives of many local birds.

"Hopefully we can also get permission to build and install extra signage advising fishers that dropping unwanted line on the ground is not just an illegal act, but one that has far reaching and largely unrecognised consequences. Discarded line is a huge threat to foraging birds, entangling and maiming countless innocent creatures every year."

Knowing the colour of your skin undertone is the first step to understanding what jewellery will look great on you.

This can be tricky because your underlying skin colour may not be what you see on the surface.

The surface colour of skin changes depending on sun exposure and other skin conditions but the skin’s undertone remains consistent.

There are three main undertones

Today I'm going to cut to the chase with 3 sure-fire ways to tell what your undertone is and then you can get on with the fun stuff!

1. What colour are your veins?

Check out the inside of your wrists. Do your veins appear blue or green? If they look blue/purple, you're cool-toned. If green, you're warm-toned. If you can't really tell, you probably lean neutral.

2. Do you burn or tan?

How about your colour after a day at the beach? If you burn easily or turn pink, you're cool-toned. If you tan, you're warm-toned. Not sure? You could have neutral undertones.

3. The white fabric test

Take off your makeup and pull your hair back into a ponytail. Now grab a pure white piece of clothing and an off-white piece of clothing. Hold them up to your face one at a time. Do you look better in white? Your undertones are warm. If you look washed out in pure white and better in off-white, then your undertones are probably cool. Feel great in both colours? Your skin may have neutral undertones.

Now you know your undertones - it's time to choose your jewellery!

Cool : Silver

Warm : Gold

Neutral : Silver &/or Gold

Markets are a major part of our life at Divine Creatures Jewellery. They are where we got started and we are in among them every weekend.The stall is always alive with beautiful and bubbly personalities, on the lookout for something fresh to wear and treasure. I know it sounds corny but it's kind of what we live for.If you are reading this somewhere on the Gold Coast, Queensland, then you probably know all about our state's amazing markets and what a buzz they are, even when the thunder rolls in!

Every market has a different vibe and you might be wondering which one has your name on it.

Well, we've been marketing for years now and have put together a little Gold Coast market LOVE LIST of the ones we attend

It's all designer here and if you love fashion, there is a good chance you are going to think you have died and gone to heaven. Local talent, established and emerging, is everywhere. You will need a few weekends up your sleeve to get really stuck in.

This is definitely the market to be seen at! Street-style'couples, singles, families and friends are often featured in market Style Snaps and the stallholders always look magazine-ready. A fashion photographers DREAM.

Pretty much as on-trend as TVM Burleigh but right on the beach, so the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed. The layout is also different, the stalls are in a large circle, which makes a really nice change to other markets. Did I mention that both TVM markets have a local live tunes tent?

"Good Vibes Only" and how!

The Farmers Market starts early and is all done by 12 noon. You can pick up your fruit & veg, something for brunch, some flowers for the table and still make it home before ten. Plus, this market is on EVERY Saturday.

Perfect if you like to be organised and support local fruit & veg growers. This market has just the right amount of craft and decor stalls to make it worth a good browse.

Location, location, location!

Grab a bite to eat and then chill out on the beach. It couldn't be in a better spot for sun-and-sand-loving cruisers who lap up a relaxed vibe.

Probably the best market for families, too, because the kids can burn off some energy at the park before you hit the stalls.

What do you think of when you hear someone say Mother of Pearl? Well, those-in-the-know call it nacre. A beautiful, iridescent coating on the inside of a shell and only SOME shell-abiding creatures can make it. So, it's a true skill - clever little creatures... Mother of Pearl is also what pearls are made from. When something nasty gets inside an oyster shell, they use nacre to coat it and after many layers, a pearl is made. Mother of Pearl has been used for thousands of years, since the ancient Egyptians. In ancient lore it has been thought to attract financial prosperity and is used in Feng Shui to symbolise wealth.

March was a totally rad month in Rainbow Bay with the Quiksilver Pro crowding the beaches, streets and cafes. It was pretty awesome!

We saw a lot of surfers hitting the markets and got to chat with people from all over the world, which was heaps of fun and very very busy.

One bonus was the extra support for our nominated charity for the month, which was WILD BIRD RESCUES GOLD COAST - a BIG THANKS to everyone that bought a bracelet from us in April.
